Exhivision ’08, the national level project display event of Vision ’08, marks the commencement of the technical extravaganza of ECEA, CEG. It is a humungous exhibition of projects related to Electronics and Communication Engineering. It invites projects from hardware, software and robotics.Exhivision ’08 provides a platform to the budding professionals to showcase their talents and fetches appropriate recognition by providing extensive media coverage. It also proves to be a one-stop shop for recruiters to witness the talents of their potential recruits.
Finalists for Exhivision '08: Click here! The Contest: You have to present a working model that showcases your innovative ideas and gives intriguing, beneficial results. The best model will be selected on the basis of parameters such as degree of innovation and efficiency. Contest Structure: ROUND I - Online submission of entries • Participants must register online, and will be provided with a Vision ID within 2 working days after submitting the registration form. • Please specify the given Vision ID in the subject line while submitting the abstract. • Participants must mail the abstract of their project to exhivision@vision08.org.in on or before March 03, 2008. • Selected participants will be notified shortly thereafter and their projects will be displayed in Exhivision ‘08. Instructions for the Abstract: A short and precise abstract will receive better attention than a long, convoluted one. The abstract should include the following: • Background: What are the uses and applications of your model? What other instruments or systems are used for similar applications? • Design Outline:- Design equations, diagrams, experimental design, algorithms etc. Your own ideas should be emphasized. • Innovative component in the design:- Mention what your own contribution to the model design is and how it is better than the commonly used methods. • Test results:- Is your model complete? If yes, then how was it tested? Summarize your results. • Image :- If your project is complete, attach a photograph of your project . If it is in the final stages of completion a proposed sketch of your project can be submitted. • Equipments necessary for display of model e.g. Oscilloscope, Regulated Power Supply etc. Round II - Exhibition session: All shortlisted teams shall exhibit their projects on 12th and 13th of March 2008. The exhibits will be classified under three broad categories: 1. Hardware 2. Software 3. Robotics • Separate cash prizes for each category. • The evaluation will be based on the marks awarded by the Judges, the response of the visitors to the stalls and also performance of the team in the brain-storming session. • In the brain-storming session, each team in the exhibition round will be asked to evaluate some (others’) allotted models/projects as per the given format. This will help bring out new ideas from participants for improvement of models, and will also test the analyzing capacity of the team. • The entries short listed for the exhibition session will be required to give a PowerPoint presentation regarding the principle, working and the applications of their project, followed by a brief questionnaire. The judges will be eminent Professors and representatives from various industries. Rules: • Participants must register online to take part in Exhivision ’08. • Maximum of four members per team. • The abstracts should be in .doc or .pdf format. • Abstracts must be mailed to exhivision@vision08.org.in. Short-listed teams will be notified by March 05, 2008. • You must specify the names of all the participants and their email ids as provided in the registration form while mailing your abstracts. • Ensure that you mail your abstract before the deadline. • Specify the given Vision ID in the subject line of the e-mail, while submitting the abstracts. • The decision of the event coordinators is final. Accommodation will be provided to outstation participants subject to availability.
